The series follows the lives and the stories of “John Sheppard” played by Joe Flanigan, “Rodney McKay” as David Hewlett, and “Teyla Emmagan” as Rachel Luttrell. John Sheppard was a United States Air Force Major Recruited to the Atlantis Expedition, Rodney McKay as a scientist, and Teyla Emmagan as the leader of the human natives in the Pegasus galaxy. The series was most successful in Europe and Australia. Stargate Atlantis gave way to the next Stargate series, Stargate Universe.
